COURSE IN PHOTOGRAPHY

The Camera as Storyteller - an advanced course in documentary photography.
The course will explore and examine the universal genre of documentary photography with specific relation to its application in South Africa. We will look at the work of greats like Henri Cartier Bresson, Sebastio Salgado in a modern context, and key South Africans like David Goldblatt, Guy Tillim, Peter Magubane and others in a South African context. Participants will be given regular assignments which will be critiqued and reviewed. The course is open to those with a prior knowledge in photography and will run once a week for 3 hours over 6 week period (meeting every Tuesday between 6-9pm).

Cost - R1 750 (public) ; R1 000 (university staff/students)
