A South African Centre for Photography Bursary:


Submissions are invited for the application for a bursary grant for a short term study program in Photography.


BURSARIES 1

During June/July, the South African Centre for Photography will grant two bursaries for short term study. The appointed course set to benefit from this bursary is the Documentary Photography: The Camera as Storyteller, a 6 week advanced course in documentary Photography, with specific relation to its application in South Africa. This course is a new course presented by The Centre for Curating the Archive, Hiddingh Hall T, by long standing documentary photographer, Paul Weinberg.


BURSARY 2 and 3
During August/1st week September, The South African Centre for Photography will grant 2 bursaries for short term study. The appointed courses set to benefit from these bursaries is Assistants' Part Time Evening Course, a 5 week course offering a grounding in the photographic studio arena to enable participants to understand more about the South African Photographic commercial advertising industry and the pre-requisites demanded of those wishing to assist within it.


BURSARY 4
During July/August, The South African Centre for Photography will grant 1 bursary for short term study. The appointed course set to benefit from this bursary is the Advanced Digital Photography Workflow, a 7 week hands-on program which addresses the hot-topics and critical path processes of the modern photographer, covering the basics of post production in Colour Management, Image Management, Digital Processing and Corrections, Photoshop Retouching Basics and Image Output.

4. For the Assistant's Course, Please also send 2 paragraphs about yourself and your previous history with photography and/or association with studio and commercial advertising photography as well as a paragraph on why you would need this bursary.
